Colt by Calyx out of Mastercraftsman mare Sierra Nevada. His sire Calyx was a British-bred son of the influential sire Kingman, out of the mare Helleborine. Trained by John Gosden, he was a high-class sprinter who won three of his four starts, including the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes. He was known for his "blisteringly fast" speed. Despite his premature death in May 2025, Calyx left behind a promising legacy as a sire, with his progeny continuing to race and perform well in major races.
