Von Trotter scores at Doncaster to secure first career victory

Homebred gelding Von Trotter lost his maiden tag this afternoon at Doncaster by powering home to take the second division of the Harrison College Handicap.

Oliver Stammers was the rider as the son of multiple winning mare Bankawi defeated the race favourite Wilde And Dandy by two and a half lengths.

Von Trotter finished second on each of his first three starts on the all weather and had been dropped to a mark of 60 on turf as he got off the mark in style.

Von Trotter's dam Bankawi was a four time winner and looks to have passed on her ability to the first of her offspring.
