Social Spirit seeks first career victory on Wednesday at Carlisle

It's Carlisle's big raceday of the season on Wednesday with the annual renewals of the Carlisle Bell and Cumberland Plate.

We have one runner at the meeting, as Social Spirit bids to become our first two-year-old winner of 2026. The son of Oasis Dream has done nothing wrong in his two starts to date, finishing third on his debut at Doncaster and then running well in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom where he was fifth to Hickory Lad.

Social Spirit will contest the Download The Oddschecker App EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes which includes several unknown quantities, with debuts from 50,000 euro breeze-up purchase Platinum Force and 40,000 euro yearling Mia Fantasia. The latter is from Hugo Palmer's yard which has done well with it's juveniles this year and has recorded seven wins from 38 starts.

The pundits have spotted Social Spirit's potential and he's well tipped and was trading as the 13/8 favourite when priced up on Tuesday evening.
