Speedy mare Miss Brazen was a winner this afternoon for new owners DS Bloodstock as she made her seasonal reappearance in the Burger King Winning Whopper Apprentice Handicap at Nottingham.
Ridden by yard apprentice Lewis Chalkley the daughter of Brazen Beau landed the five furlong handicap as she carried Dave Shaw's colours for the first time. Defeating Level Up be a length and a quarter Miss Brazen was returned at odds of 5/1 and was recording her fifth career success. Kept handy throughout the six-year-old dug deep in the closing stages and was drawing away from the field as the line approached to give Lewis Chalkley his eleventh career winner.
Miss Brazen joined us in 2022 from Karl Burke's stable and won four races for Mr and Mrs Tinning and Mrs Wallis before being purchased by DS Bloodstock at the end of 2025.
