Paul Mulrennan will ride four-year-old
August Spring
as he makes his flat debut at Newcastle on Tuesday.
The son of Gustav Klimt will contest the

at Gosforth Park. It will be August Spring's first start on the level after finishing seventh of eight in a bumper at Wetherby where he was beaten 55 lengths by Solly's Gold. A half-brother to five-time flat winner Dark Moon Rising and we hope he takes to the all weather.
The race looks a tough test, with some promising types in the line up. Domenico Contarini, is owned by Amo Racing and trained by Kevin Philippart De Foy. A debutant, he cost 750,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-brother to winner Wide Margin. Midsummer Storm is another well bred colt and makes his debut for Wathnan Racing having cost 550,000 euros at the breeze-up sales as a two-year-old. He's a half-brother to three winners and out of Group 3 placed mare Last Waltz.
Al Shaqab Racing's Exmoor was another expensive purchase at 380,000 guineas but made a disappointing debut when finishing midfield at Lingfield last month and he will be expected to do better with the experience of a run under his belt.
The pick of those with experience is Maestro Bernstein, with a BHA rating of 80, who makes his first start for Antony Brittain after being purchased out of Aidan O'Brien's stable and he sets the standard on known form.
