October saw us at the October Yearling Sales at Tattersalls, Newmarket where we picked up a dozen yearlings from Book Two and Book Three. The horses are now at the yard and have been broken in and ridden away as they begin pre-training for full race training. These horses will hopefully make their debuts on the racecourse in 2026. But there's a lot of work to do before then! Here we show you some of the new faces.

Sara's Silver Girl


Named already by her new owner, Sara's Silver Girl is by Kameko. She is the first foal of Rishes Baar who won one race at 2 years and was placed once and also fourth in the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket. Kameko was a top-class racehorse, known for his speed and Classic wins. His major victories included Vertem Futurity Trophy and the 2000 Guineas which he won in record time in 2020. Joel Stakes (Group 2).
Kodiac x Animosity


A fine bay colt by Kodiac, this exciting prospect is out of three time winner Animosity who was Group 2 placed in the USA. He is a half-brother to three-year-old winner Turronera. Kodiac is a prominent stallion known as a perennial champion sire of two-year-olds and a highly successful sire of sires. He is currently standing at Tally-Ho Stud in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland, for a 2025 stud fee of €25,000. He olds the world record for the most two-year-old winners in a single season (60 winners in 2017). Kodiac is the sire of over 100 stakes winners and more than 200 stakes performers worldwide. He is regarded as a leading sire of sires, with sons such as Ardad, Kodi Bear, Prince Of Lir, and Hello Youmzain having already produced Group 1 winners.
Arizona x Sharsted


We also purchased a filly by Arizona out of the Maxios mare Sharsted, who was placed in Britain and France. Arizona was the second top rated juvenile colt in Ireland in 2019, and the fourth top rated juvenile colt in Europe in 2019. He won the Coventry Stakes and was placed second in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes, Newmarket and was third in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh.
Saxon Warrior x Camomile Lawn


We already have a Saxon Warrior colt and have purchased a second of his offspring, this time a filly out of mare Camomile Lawn who won one race at 3 years and placed five times. This yearling filly is a half-sister to Royal Bear (2023 f. by Kodi Bear), placed twice at 2 years in Italy.

Saxon Warrior himself was trained by Aiden O'Brien and was the top rated two-year-old old colt in Europe in 2017 and joint second top rated three-year-old old colt in Europe in 2018. He won four races including the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.
Sottsass x Walk On Bye


The most expensive of our purchases, at a cost of 80,000 guineas, was a filly by Arc winner Sottsass. Walk On Bye won twice as a juvenile including the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes, Curragh and was placed twice including third in Group 1 Phoenix Stakes. She is the dam of four winners from 9 runners and 10 living foals of racing age including Want And Power who won three races and Delft Dancer who won as a juvenile and has been placed 4 times.
Calyx x Sierra Nevada


We liked this bay colt by Calyx out of Mastercraftsman mare Sierra Nevada. Calyx was a British-bred son of the influential sire Kingman, out of the mare Helleborine. Trained by John Gosden, he was a high-class sprinter who won three of his four starts, including the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes. He was known for his "blisteringly fast" speed. Despite his premature death in May 2025, Calyx left behind a promising legacy as a sire, with his progeny continuing to race and perform well in major races.
Showcasing x Spirit Of Appin


Also joining us from Tattersalls was a fine colt by Showcasing out of Spirit Of Appin. Showcasing is a leading European sire standing at £35,000. Showcasing retired to stud in 2011 and has since become one of Britain's leading and most sought-after sires, known particularly for producing fast, high-quality sprinters. He is a consistent source of top-class two-year-old winners and Group-level performers. Showcasing won the Gimcrack Stakes, York and was placed second in Duke of York Stakes and third in Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
Cracksman x Bonica


A smart chestnut filly by Cracksman out of the once-raced Shamardal mare Bonica, this one took our eye and we think was a bargain at 4,000 guineas. Her dam Bonica is an own-sister to Listed winner Pelerin and six-time winner Base Note and a half-sister to four other individual winners.
