Thursday racing: Carlisle and Doncaster

We head north to Carlisle and south to Doncaster on Thursday with five horses in action.

Larchill Lass has been busy of late and she returns at Carlisle on Thursday in the 'Racing TV Handicap' where she can benefit from a six pound weight for age allowance from the older horses. The three-year-old joined us from Karl Burke in April and her best form for us came at Beverley in May when runner up in a selling race. Placed in his last three races, Havana Rum looks the horse everyone has to beat.

We hand a debut to Make Believe filly Gunalt Wavelength who makes her first racecourse appearance in the 'Muckle Maiden Fillies' Stakes' at 3.55. She's a half-sister to winning sprinter Leaves Of Grass and we look forward to seeing what she can do. Gunalt Wavelength has seen a racecourse before as she took part in a racecourse gallop at Newcastle last week. Karl Burke's Aspiral looks the horse with the best form, runner up on her one run to date and the horse behind her at Hamilton that day ran well next time in a valuable Class 2 contest at Newcastle.

Fresh from running at Ayr on Monday Keep Warm and I Need Your Love are back in action in the finale. I Need Your Love will be ridden by former stable apprentice Nathan Evans whilst Billy Garritty rides Keep Warm. The race is confined to horses who are without a win since the 2024 turf season and there look to be some out of form sorts in the line up. Jkr Cobbler ran well when second at Ayr, two places in front of Keep Warm, and he should run his race.

There's also action on Town Moor where Scatter Penny aims to get back to winning ways. The filly won her first two races last year as a juvenile but failed to place since. Joanna Mason is the rider charged with trying to turn around the filly's fortunes.
